JOB POSITION: Surgical Technician

JOB STATUS: Full-time positions working 80 hours per pay.  Flexible day shift hours, flex to accommodate surgery schedule as needed.  Will assume call, weekend, and holiday responsibility.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program or commensurate experience. BLS Certification. Previous OR experience strongly preferred.  Must exemplify a strong initiative and enthusiasm for the position, including a professional demeanor in appearance and ability to communicate effectively, be an independent thinker, calm under pressure, and a customer service leader.

JOB DUTIES: Based in Surgery but may work with other departments rendering personal and professional care to patients in the perioperative setting. Fulfills all duties associated with a surgical scrub technician including maintaining the sterile field, handling specimens properly, and assisting the practitioner as necessary in a professional and calm manner. Proficient in all central supply/sterilization procedures and techniques. Assists in maintaining supplies. Facilitates collaboration amongst a variety of disciplines in order to provide a unified and seamless approach to care delivery.
